For 200 years, Tulip Poplars planted by Thomas Jefferson stood sentinel by Monticello's west lawn portico. Then, in 2008 and 2011, the enormous trees succumbed to age and illness and were taken down.
Our Tulip Poplar dresser-top keeping chest features a through dovetailed box with a hinged lid with applied moldings, ogee feet and solid brass hardware. Crafted one at a time, the piece is sure to become an heirloom to be handed down from generation to generation.
Each chest is signed and dated by Charles Neil, nationally known master furniture maker. Charles is a native of Virginia and has been crafting furniture full time since 1992.
The chest includes a working lock with two keys. 16 3/4"w x 9 7/8"d x 13 3/4"h.
