In 1811 Thomas Jefferson planted “Lathyrus odoratus. Sweet scented pea” in an oval flower bed at Monticello.  Our Painted Lady Sweet Pea notecard was created from an original oil painting by Tim O’Kane, a local Virginia artist.  Blank inside, information about the plant is included on the back of the card.
