Local chocolatier, Tim Gearhart, opened Gearharts Fine Chocolates in Charlottesville in 2001. There he blends the worlds finest chocolate with local sweet cream and pure butter. Top-quality fruits, nuts, herbs, teas, spices, and liquors complete each piece as its finished by hand. Our 32-piece assortment is custom made for us featuring two chocolates with a line drawing of Monticello. Our chocolates are made to order, please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery.
The assortment includes two each of the following:
Criolla: Extra bittersweet (73.5%) Venezuelan single bean chocolate ganache with natural cacoa nibs, dipped in dark chocolate (Monticello featured).
Earl Grey: Bittersweet chocolate and cream infused with top quality Earl Grey tea, coated with dark chocolate.
Michigan Cherry: Semi-sweet chocolate ganache with Kirsch and dried Michigan Cherries, dipped in dark chocolate.
Maple Pecan: Virginia maple-milk chocolate ganache with toasted pecans, dipped in dark chocolate.
Maya: Rich, bittersweet chocolate ganache flavored with cinnamon, Ancho chili and orange, dusted with cocoa.
Pistachio Toffee Orange: Semi-sweet chocolate ganache mixed with pistachio toffee, dipped in dark chocolate and topped with candied orange peel.
Raspberry Zin: Semi-sweet chocolate ganache with raspberry-zinfandel conserves, dipped in dark chocolate.
Taj: Bittersweet chocolate ganache with candied ginger, cardamom and rose, dipped in dark chocolate.
Mint Julep: Creamy milk chocolate ganache infused with fresh mint, spiked with aged Kentucky bourbon and dipped in milk chocolate.
Malted Milk Hazelnut: Whipped Gianduja malted milk and toasted hazelnuts, dipped in creamy milk chocolate.
Almond Mocha: Espresso ganache and marzipan with a whole roasted almond, glazed with milk chocolate.
Kauai: Toasted coconut, dark rum and white chocolate ganache with a roasted macadamia nut wrapped in milk chocolate.
Brown Butter Caramel: Classic rich caramel made with browned butter, cream and a hint of sea salt, encased in milk chocolate.
Tequila Lime: Aged Anejo Tequila and fresh lime fondant dipped in white chocolate.
Apricot Brandy: Milk chocolate ganache with dried apricots soaked in French cognac, finished in both white and milk chocolates.
Vanilla Bean Brulee: White chocolate ganache with vanilla bean and torched sugar caramel, dipped in white chocolate.
