Bred by Baltimore nurseryman Samuel Feast in 1843, ‘Queen of the Prairies’ is a Hybrid Setigera rose known to be very hardy and vigorous. The Prairie Rose (Rosa setigera), one of the parents, is a trailing but shrubby rose native to North America. ‘Queen of the Prairies’ is best when trained as a climber on a pillar, trellis, or similar structure.
