Ben Franklin was perhaps the most diversely accomplished American ever, but before it all he was a printer. Savvy operation of his printing business earned him the fortune which eventually allowed him time for all his other pursuits, from science to inventions to politics.
Franklin printed paper money for the three colonies, New Jersey, Delaware, and Pennsylvania. All such notes are now highly sought by collectors.
By the time this Delaware money was made, Franklin"s junior business partner David Hall was doing most of the work. Though sometimes faded away, the back of the notes said "Printed by B. Franklin and D. Hall".
This note is held together with an antique pin.
