Thomas Jefferson planted "Papaver Rhoeas flor. plen. double poppy" in a Monticello oval flower bed in 1807. This is a horticultural variety of the common European field poppy, which was immortalized in Flanders during World War I. This necklace features a hand patinaed bronze with red cast glass petals and freshwater pearls on an adjustable 16” leather cord. Pendant is 1” diameter. Handmade in the U.S.A.
