Valerian or Garden Heliotrope is native to Europe and northern Asia and has become naturalized in some regions of America. Valerian, also traditionally known as All Heal, has been used medicinally for centuries. During the Middle Ages, Valerian was grown in monastery gardens and used as a spice and perfume. This plant is not attractive to deer.
