Palmate-leaved Hibiscus was introduced into Europe from East India by 1712 and listed by Bernard McMahon in his 1806 American Gardener's Calendar. This herbaceous perennial, with pale yellow blossoms in summer and striking, deeply-lobed leaves, is related to Okra and grows to five feet. Prefers full sun and well-drained garden loam. Transplant from indoors, or direct sow after last frost. USDA zones 7-10.
