The wildflower “twinleaf” was assigned to a new genus Jeffersonia in 1792 to honor Thomas Jefferson’s knowledge of natural history, especially in botany. Jeffersonian diphylla is a small woodland perennial whose small white flowers appear in early spring, often around Jefferson’s April 13th birthday.
Mother and daughter artists, Maureen and Rebecca Worth, both Virginia residents, create each Twinleaf pendant with sculpted clay. The result is graceful curves and elegant lines.
Each pin is assembled by hand and signed by the artist, and is embellished with peridot, Swarovski crystals, and freshwater pearls. 2" diameter.
