Made from dried wheat and grasses, this wreath with its festive burlap bow recalls tawny autumn fields and the sheaves used as holiday décor to feed the birds. Display indoors or in a sheltered spot outside. Large, 28" dia.
Wheat was Monticello’s primary export crop. Jefferson introduced it to his plantation because it demanded less cultivation than tobacco and allowed enslaved people to devote time to other plantation projects, such as raising other crops, tending to livestock, and learning skilled trade.
